THURSDAY EVENING 6-9 PM 6 WEEK HAND BUILDING CLASS WITH JENNIFER ALVAREZ
Jennifer Alvarez is a multidisciplinary artist working in the Bay Area since 2011. She has been making with clay since 2005 and enjoys combining wheel thrown and handbuilt elements in her ceramics. She spends her time creating and teaching throwing and hand building techniques at Auburn Clay Arts Studio and at Kollektiv Clay Studio in Northern California.
This class is great for an introduction to hand building and creative technique. Your instructor will teach you how to hand build, coil, use a slab roller, pinch pot, use potters tools, and how to apply glaze. The class will explore the ceramics process from start to finish.
This class meets on Thursday evenings from 6-9pm for 6 weeks - from January 16th until February 20th.
The course includes a 25 lb bag of clay, free firing, and access to glaze materials. An additional 3 hours of open studio time per week is also included.
